The World Golf Awards, 2023, was recently unveiled. This event is the very manifestation of the love that golfing fans have for golf. The event recognizes several ancillary factors that come into the foray of business due to their golfing presence.
The list of some of these businesses are golfing clubs, resorts, hotels, and even broadcasters. And the winner in one specific category will baffle anybody who has followed golf for a while.
The New King Arrives:
This year, the World Golf Awards, 2023, recognized an American Broadcaster as the winner of the ‘World’s Best Golf TV Channel’ award over last year’s winner Sky Networks.
Well, this should not come as a shocker for anybody who follows golf. Things started going wrong for Sky Networks back in 2022 when they royally botched up the streaming of the highly prestigious Solheim Cup.
This left fans distraught and frustrated, and therefore, the prestigious broadcaster lost their coveted position.
For the award, three channels were primarily nominated. These included NBC Golf, BT Sports Golf Channel, and Sky Sports.
Sky Sports was the broadcaster that won last year’s award, but things did not seem to work out for them this year, and therefore, the primary contender for the title, NBC Golf, lifted the cup.
Was this because NBC Golf was a better broadcaster or because Sky Sports failed? Well, sports critics are claiming that it is more because of the latter and not the former.
Whatever might be the reason, as of now, NBC Golf is the best golfing channel recognized by the World Golf Awards, 2023. Let us hope that the winner does not lose its footing and commit the same mistakes as its predecessor.
