Combat fans were left perplexed as they saw Francis Ngannou leave a promotional event as a reigning champ. One reason that came to light was that Francis was having a lingering feeling at the back of his head about being in the perpetual state of labor.
Prior to his walking out, Francis was slated to fight Jon Jones. But sources suggested that the fighter resorted to ducking or sitting out of the fight. But Francis had a different point of view on the fight.
According to Francis, he pursued the fight for two years before deciding to duck out.
Francis ‘The Predator’ Ngannou’s exclusion from the UFC and, subsequently, the fight left several combat fans disappointed and wanting more.
But in a recent interview or conversation with Joe Rogan, Francis shed light on his version of the story. The 37-year-old fighter is thinking about switching his career from MMA to boxing.
Hence, he will fight the infamous Tyson ‘Gypsy King’ Fury. The match will take place on 28th October, and the location of the fight is going to be Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Wish To Face The Bones
But even after a confirmed deal worth several million dollars and a fixed schedule. The Predator still took time out to take part in the Joe Rogan Experience. In the podcast, Francis was expressing his perspective on his walking out and his wish to fight Joe ‘the Bones’ Rogan.
During the podcast, Rogan was asking Francis something along the lines of, “But what happens if you beat Jon Jones? You become the UFC heavyweight champion again?”
Francis replied, “That’s the problem; I don’t know. Maybe he will be a special fight, a special bird, or something. Maybe not like a UFC bird; I don’t know. You know, to be honest, I don’t worry about the title. The title is not what I worry about. I worry about that fight, that challenge, and I wouldn’t care if he was a fight without the title. I don’t need a UFC title.“
