Racing as a sport can be absolutely grueling at times. With 35 racers battling for supremacy, things can get hairy on the tarmac. Therefore, regardless of winning or losing, every racer deserves some sort of recognition.
It is not easy to drive under such hostile conditions, so even if you lose some, dust yourself and restart. This is something that Trackhouse Racing’s Daniel Suarez showed in a post-race press conference.
After being considered a possible winner, Suarez had to face some technical errors, which made him fall short of his mark. Yet, unlike most other racers, he was seen handling the situation calmly.
Suarez lost 10 seconds of his lead due to a faulty pit stop, which cost him the race. However, in a press conference at Watkins Glen, Suarez made it apparent that there is no point in sulking.
After a huge blunder that left the air hose tangled with the left front tire, Suarez had to fight tooth and nail to maintain his lead.
More About Daniel Suarez:
The 31-year-racer did everything in his power to cut back on his losses, but he didn’t have any more time. When asked about the loss, Suarez said, “You know there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about the past.”

Later on in the interview, Suarez discussed the whole blunder and feeling in detail, “I left the pit road, I was mad but then what am I gonna do about it, there’s nothing I can do. The only thing I could have done was to drive the cr*p out of that car, which I did.”
This interview effectively showed what it means to always focus on the future, no matter the current situation. As of now, Suarez is just 28 points behind the 16th position.
