Tennis star Serena Willaims announces her retirement from her tennis career after a 22-year-long career. After participating in this year’s US Open, Serena has finally moved on to a new chapter in her life. She said that it is her time to “evolve away from tennis”.
The winner of 23 grand slams, Serena William, has confirmed that although she has decided to retire, she will give her best in the US this year. However, once this year’s Grand Slam is over, she will retire from the tennis court forever.
With her picture on the cover page of Vogue, Serena Williams Tweeted, “There comes a time in life when we have to decide to move in a different direction” the pictures of Serena on Vogue contained a caption reading “Serena’s Farewell… I’m terrible at goodbyes.”
Surprisingly, Serena has announced her retirement after one year. After returning to the Tennis court after one year, Serena lost to Harmony Tan. Serena has hinted at taking part in Grand Slam which will take place on 23rd august.
While in her form, Serena has been a dominating tennis player. She has 73 career singles titles, 23 titles in doubles, and two mixed doubles titles. In her 39 grand slams, Serena has won 23 singles titles, two mixed doubles, and fourteen singles titles.
