Saurav Ganguly, the outgoing president of BCCI, makes the news again by announcing that he will be running for the role of president of CAB ( Cricket Association of Bengal ). The current president of CAB, Avishek Dalmiya, will join the governing council of IPL.
Ganguly will fill his previous position at the CAB, which he held for five years. He held the post for four years (2015 to 2019) in the past.
Ganguly has announced –
“Yes, I will be contesting the CAB polls,”
He also added – “I plan to file my nomination on October 22. I have been in CAB for five years and as per Lodha rules, I can continue for another four years. So I will finalize my panel on October 20.”
The former team India captain will be replaced by Roger Binny on October 18 this year. He was appointed in that position in 2019. Although Ganguly is leaving his position, Jay Shah will remain in the most influential position as the BCCI secretary. Rajiv Shukla will continue to serve as the board’s vice president.
Binny, the new president of the BCCI, was a former member of the Indian cricket team. He helped the team win the 1983 world cup.
