It is official that India will be hosting its first-ever MotoGP Race at the Buddh International Circuit located in Uttar Pradesh next year in 2023. Even though the exact date is not out yet, the organizers have confirmed that India is all set to host the much-awaited MotoGP race.
The CEO of Dorna Sports, who are the holders of the commercial rights for the event, have mentioned that they are in talks with the Sports Ministry Of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This was earlier this month.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, the CEO, stated, “We have a lot of fans in India and we’re excited to be able to bring the sport to them.”
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, mentioned that “It’s a matter of great pride for Uttar Pradesh to host such a global event.”
The MotoGP 2023 race will begin at Algarve International Circuit located in Portimao, Portugal. It is set to be held from 24 to 26 March.
