The former NBA star Dwayne Wade shared a weird rivalry with the Boston Celtics that lasted from the late 2000s to the early 2010s. Now that Wade is a retired man, the rivalry seems all in the past.
However, the beef between Wade and former Celtics athlete Paul Pierce is still hot and heavy. A few weeks back, Pierce compared his career with Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade in a bizarre manner, which did not sit well with The Flash.
A few weeks back, a podcast, ‘It is what it is,‘ invited Paul Pierce. In the podcast, Pierce made an explosive comment saying, “My skills went unappreciated because I didn’t get to play with a lot of great players,” therefore taking a clear dig at Dwayne Wade.
It is true that Wade got to play with legends like Chris Bosh, Shaquille O’Neal, and LeBron ‘The King’ James. Therefore, Pierce’s comments might be justified up to a certain point.
However, we also have to agree that Pierce also got to play with stars like Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett. Therefore, fans and critics are lambasting Pierce for this comment.
Here’s What Happed At Another Podcast:
In another podcast, ‘Rent is expensive, and I’m living rent-free,’ Wade took on Pierce and said, “It’s documented. I don’t need to say anything… I’m not comparing myself to someone who is not playing the game.” therefore, ending the conversation before it even began.
However, this is not the first time when the mud was slung at Wade. In another interview, former NBA player Jeff Teague made some waves when asked about his opinion on the better player between Wade and Harden. Without any hesitation, Teague picked Harden.
However, Teague did it from a player’s perspective and did not cause any bad blood between them. Wade is yet to make any comment on Teague’s opinion.
